Italian Films on NYC TV WOR and WPIX?

Hi! I'm trying to understand when WPIX (or other?) started CONTINENTAL MINIATURES…. 1958? and/or when WOR-TV started (1950?)/stopped showing Italian films (Italian Film Theater).

I've uncovered a lot of old Radio TV/Mirror with TV listings but I'm missing some dates….
Thanks!!!

...Martin Scorsese claims that his family would watch Italian-language movies on TV every ?Friday night in the late '40s. A dozen or so years back, when I asked around about which station it might have been, the consensus was that WPIX/11 did it then...

thanks…yes, this is exactly the story i'm researching--I know that's what MS has said but his dates don't always square w/listings i've found in print..….seems that wpix/11 didn't start until later (1958) but that WOR-TV def. had a show as early as 1950.

continental miniatures

I recall wwor tv in NY having the show not only on Friday night before Joe Franklin show but Sunday afternoons as well.

I am wondering if anyone recalls when RAI, the Italian network, aired a nightly newscast on WNYC, ch 31 at 11 pm. I think this was prior to Italian programming that was on in the early evenings on that station.
