littlejohn said:Try connecting the wire you had on pin 12 to pin 13 instead. That's the realy contact which closes on the tertiary tone. You don't list Relay Common on the pinouts, I assume it is logic ground, which ios already connected. I'd also connect all three logic grunds together. The three sets of electronics may be isolated. (I last messed with Delta machines in 1980, my meory isn't all that good over 27 years,......)
FIRST, lets determine exactly which machine you have, the pin outs are different! Then this should all make sense. When you have the correct machine, and wiring, if it still doesn't work, check the heads for cue response, and the caps, which if dried out, will prevent the cue from being "read". Also, since I think you indicated a three deck machine, are all of the cues not being read, or none at all. Also note, that the later machines have open collectors, and not relays..
ITC Cart Machine Pinouts
ITC 3D (Three Deck) Machines
Per the 3D manual (890-0004-000):
3D Reproducer Audio Output pin-out (J2A, J2B, J2C):
1 Mono Shield (Ground) (Left Channel Shield, stereo models)
3 Mono Audio Out (-) (Left Channel -, stereo models)
5 Mono Audio Out (+) (Left Channel +, stereo models)
2 Right Channel Shield (Ground)
4 Right Channel Audio Out (-) (left channel -, stereo models)
6 Right Channel Audio Out (+) (left channel +, stereo models)
Note - the same audio pinout in a 6-pin Cinch-Jones
connector is used for both playback output and record
input of AudiCord DL-series recorders and reproducers.
AudiCord uses a different remote-control connector, however.
ITC 3D Remote Control pin-out (J1A, J1B, J1C):
1 - Logic Common, Switch Ground
2 - Remote Start (Run Ground) - Normally Open Switch
3 - Remote Start (Ready Ground) - Normally Open Switch
4 - Remote Stop (Ready Ground) - Normally Open Switch
5 - Remote Stop (Stop Ground) - Normally Open Switch
6 - Remote Run Lamp Ground Circuit
7 - Remote Ready Lamp Ground Circuit
8 - +24 Volts
9-10 - Sec. Cue Relay Contacts (Normally Closed)
10-11 - Sec. Cue Relay Contacts (Normally Open)
12-13 - Tert. Cue Relay Contacts (Normally Open)
14-15 - Cue Audio - Unbalanced Audio Output from Cue preamplifier; High Impedance (10K Ohms or greater)
Delta Series Machines:
Per the Delta Series manual (dated 6/84):
Delta I, II, III Playback Remote Control pin-out:
1 - Logic Common, Switch Ground
2 - Remote Start (Run Ground)
3 - Remote Cue Switch
4 - Remote Cue Lamp
5 - Remote Stop (Stop Ground)
6 - Remote Run Lamp (Ground)
7 - Remote Read Lamp (Ground) - Follows ready lamp function,
when lamp is at ground. When lamp is on, signal is at ground.
When lamp is off, the open collector transistor is off.
CAUTION: ready ground follows condition of front panel
ready lamp. If ready lamp is strapped to flash ready
ground will change states synchronous with front panel ready
lamp. Maximum open circuit voltage is 25VDC, maximum
current at 200 ma.
8 - +5 Volts
9 - Auxilary Start Pulse - momentary (100 msec) pulse to
ground upon start of cartridge - open collector. May
be used to start an external clock or timer. Maximum
open circuit voltage is 25VDC, maximum current at 200 ma.
10 - Secondary Cue Relay (Open Collector) - 200 ma switching
current (sinking), maximum 25 VDC open circuit voltage,
switches to ground upon sensing of secondary cue.
11 - Secondary Cue Relay (Normally Open).
12 - Tertiary Cue Relay (Open Collector) - switches to
ground upon sensing of tertiary cue.
13 - Tertiary Cue Relay (Normally Open).
14 - Cue Audio Output - Nominal voltage is .5VRMS
15 - Cue Audio Ground
