Can someone please explain to me why WHBC-AM, whose various band of nimrods promoted all week long that the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement coverage started at 1..waited until 1-15 to get on the air with it?

How in hell can this radio station win Arbitron 12+ every book?

Is this the worst ''#1'' in the country?

Are people in this market so stupid they can't fill out an Arbitron Diary correctly?

When is NextMedia going to give up on this mess and sell it to someone who might just actually fix what's wrong with it?

I didn't get a chance to hear it, because I was up in Ashtabula "Bull" hunting (see the Mighty Blog of Fun for more!)...

Is it possible WHBC had technical problems? Remember, just up I-77, the Clear Channel cluster got hit by lightning...maybe something happened at WHBC as well.

Or maybe not, but being a veteran of running remotes both in the field and at the studio, I know VERY well that Things Happen, not all of which can be foreseen. If something DID happen technically, getting on at 1:15 wasn't bad at all.

First, was this local or network coverage? If network, we cannot do much about that.

If local, perhaps one of the honored guests was stuck in the never-ending Canton construction? Or, one of the anchors? Perhaps the parade up Cleveland Avenue simply ran long.

Would my Radio-Info brethern be equally disappointed if they started coverage at 1:00pm, without anything important to say until 1:15pm?

One of the hallmarks of radio is that we able to adapt and adjust to ever-changing conditions quickly.
