It's a Darn Shame

It's a darn shame that a topic that I started, a topic intended to be a friendly discussion of what you guys think 2006 will bring quickly degraded into a "b**** topic about a low powered station that has NEVER gotten above a 1 share in it's 30+ year existence of multiple formats, yet that is what became of my topic. One man especially has dissapointed me in that I asked him to please refrain further from his "I'm right about Indie, you're wrong" rants, yet he did not listen. He also disregarded many of our rules, rule 5 the chief rule.

I have tried to be the softer moderator these last few years, but now I see that people run over me when I play nice.(a person at my work is example of that). Well no more, from now on, I'm getting tough. And mad. Don't even think about breaking any further rules because you will be getting it big time.

It's too bad too because you always seemed to be an even handed moderator.
It's a topic that's even come up at another LA radio board.

It's kind of interesting to hear how other view what's happening here...

Then shouldn't it be obvious that the collective behavior is unacceptable, if you can tick off Josh?

And you all thought it was just personality conflicts with me. Now you know.

I went over and read it. All I saw was a lot of complaining, a thread about Jhani Kaye that could have existed here without trouble, and one whiny comment about "I hope that this forum will be a little more of a free discussion board where we can share ideas."

Well, be careful what you wish for. You might get it. Any of you look at the discussion forum at All Access? Unmoderated, and has now deterioriated into a free-for-all where personal attacks go unchallenged and there can be no serious discussion about anything. The Delphi board will attract all of the people who want to be able to attack anything they want without fear of retribution, and it will eventually become unreadable as a result. Shared ideas? I doubt they will be heard over the noise.

BTW, in case the clueless person who thinks the slowness of Radio-Info was due to "not enough bandwidth" is reading this, read this thread on the "Ask Radio-Info" board in which our system techie answers that very question. Seems it is -- as I keep telling you -- too many people adding to the database, which is why I get so upset when you waste database space with nonsense.

Re: ATTENTION MR HARPER

Yes you, the guy that always has to post about CC/LA, particulary KIIS.

I don't know who you specifically are( but I have my suspicions on that) but I will tell you right now we do not stand for the commercialization of your postings ie promoting everything that CC does in LA/beyond. Everyone of your posts is nothing but a Clear Channel Cheerleading camp and any further cheerleading and not actually discussion related will be deleted and if you keep it up, you know what will happen. There is no further discussion on the matter.
______________

Re: It's a Darn Shame - both ways wrt Glenn

Yet when Glenn (XXXradioXXX) posts one of his many efforts to provide us with some of the "thinking" and strategizing taking place within CC's facility on Olive Avenue in Burbank, you slam him unduly, such as in the post this week where he wrote "I have XM and now listen to it for nearly 90% of my radio listening.". Your response that he had now explained why he no longer had the background to contribute to this board was mean spirited and seemed like a personal attack. My take on most of his posts is that they are informative and thought provoking, and often do, and often don't (by his own admission) end up prognosticating future turn of events. Then again, many of us in the corporate world are familiar with ideas and trial balloons that never make it to launch.
So don't shoot the messenger. He is simply trying to use this board to keep the radio conversation going not just about what is and what was, but also about what might be.
