It's all gone Pete Tong

If you're a dance music fan, check out tomorrows Essential Selection on Radio 1 BBC. It's their 10th anniversary, and Tongy is gonna let it roll. Apparently the entire weekend is going to be dance music, excluding daytime programming. Dance Anthems is live from Ibiza as well.

Not really dance related, but Zane Lowe did a remix show of some of the best dance/rock/electronic stuff I've heard in my lifetime.

I can see you havent turned it off either have you.

No :?). In fact, I usually take the train to work, but I drove the 112kms just so I could hear Chris Moyles. Its nearly 2 hours in traffic, but I couldn't resist....even with 20 bucks a day to park. :).

Coming home I had Mills on, then Zane Lowe blowing out the trunk in my Toyota. It was just awesome.

One thing to hear R1 on a stream, it's another to hear it over good quality audio equipment in stereo.

Funny, when I got the Sirius radio, I stopped listening to FM. Now I've got BBC on the Sirius box, I hardly listen to the other Sirius channels.

I love the Radio 1 especially the Dance shows. It complements the other Dance channels on Sirius.

Anyone ever gone to Ibiza?

listening now, around 930 to 10, and he's all dance music for the Ibiza weekend.

Anyone gone to Ibiza? What's the place like. My wifes cousin who lives in London says it's a vomit cesspool of drunk teens in clubs

Hmmm, that seriously makes me want to go :)

Re: Anyone ever gone to Ibiza?

I asked a family member in ICQ who lives in the UK what it's about. They're young and said it's THE place to go, an island full of clubs where people go all night and day.

Sounds cool to me, puke or not :?)

Both are true... have you ever been to a club in the UK? That's what many of them are like (i.e. teenage vomit and brawling), at least outside of the 'superclubs'.

The majority go to clubs, in Ibiza or anywhere, for the following:

1) Get drunk
2) Get high
3) Get laid

People who go there because of anything to do with music, I think, are in the minority...

Ibiza is basically a hellhole, though it does also have some very good clubs in it.

About half of UK clubbing is based around "AVVIN IT LAAAAAAUUURGE" which is basically a process of getting so drunk/drugged you can barely move, and having sex with as many people as possible, with bonus points if you're too drunk to remember who they were (You might be able to tell I'm not a fan of it). This element is pretty big at the best of times, and even bigger if you go to Ibiza or Ayia Napa.
