It's all up to Russell Honore to clean up the dirty work

I was watching "60 Minutes" last night, and the pictures of downtown N.O. are quite disturbing. you see images of victims on roofs, elderly people who can't leave their houses, and sevreal houses submerged in water. New Orleans is now a city underwater. You would have to ride a boat getting through the water-filled streets. Both the Superdome and the Morial N.O. Convention Center are both shut down, as well as Louis Armstrong N.O. International Airport(MSY). Half of the city's population have moved over to Baton Rouge, (Where it's all High and Dry-with water underneath the bridge)and ALL three big cities of the Texas Triangle. Others are now living for the time being in Northern Miss.,Northern Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. If Governor Blanco and mayor Charles Nagin could'nt do the job, there's one man who can: Colonel Russell Honore. The tough, Marine-talking US Army general wants everybody in N.O. out as quickly as possible. Honore's crew want to rebuild N.O. and will try to keep peace at bay. This city need more security to guard those looted and seriously-damged shops and stores in the Metropolitan New Orleans area (Including North Shore towns Covington, Slidell, and Hammond.) I can tell you right now this is a city in crisis. All of the stations (Both TV & Radio) don't have any power. The only TV and Radio they got is through DirecTV and XM. There's no food or drinks, and the water is digusting. This city was built on three bodies of Water: Lake Ponchartrain to the north; The Mississippi inside the city; and The Gulf of Mexico to the south. I wish this city was elevated-Just like Denver. Again, thanks to some strong effort coming from the troops. There's help on the way...The south shall rise.

"The south shall rise."

Please tell me you meant that in a POSITIVE way.
______________

> What I meant is this: the victims of Hurricane Katrina will eventually bounce back after the recovery here in Houston. I am very POSITIVE that the City of New Orleans will slowly rebuild brick by brick. It will take about $10.5B to rebuild it. The Saints won't be playing here this season, and so will the Hornets. Today, as we speak, we're opening out our closets, our pantries, and our wallets. we go to Department and Big Box Stores-Like Wal-Mart, Sears, Target, Best Buy, Kroger, et al-and BUY those reloadable shopping cards, were they can buy anything they want, as long as they don't loot here. After the storm passed, I'm starting to become MORE of a caregiver, and New Orleanians will go back home-Happy. Many of whom will call Houston-Home. :)

Honore is the man

Very impressed with him...
______________
