It's 'Beautiful' In Birmingham

Rx

As far as I can tell, it's gone for good...correct?
As far as AM/FM is concerned...unless they find another traditional broadcaster to air the programming.

And it's on AM to boot!

Even back when the format was at its peak in the 70s, it was somewhat rare to find on AM (though AMs with the format certainly did exist. SF's KABL 960, for example), as it was a predominantly FM format by then.

The AMs that did well with Beautiful Music in the 70s were mostly those that had gained a sizable audience for it in the 1960s. Many who already enjoyed it on a particular AM station were slow in moving to FM in the 70s. BUT - important to note that when AM stations started doing well with it in the late 1950s and early 60s many then regarded it as "FM music on AM", since most FMs were already featuring a good amount of instrumental music - both popular (Beautiful Music) and Classical already because they showed off best the fidelity of the medium.
