So how do you guys rate this station? its been a year.
and it seems to be slowly getting better

They're down to at around #21 or #22 in the ratings so far

They've finally been adding SOME Rock and Roll. But it still seems to me that its a Carpenters Remake of Every song still...

Hey Jeff when this station decides to re image. Wanna Make it 96.7 The Nap?

It's #31 25-54 for the last monthly PPMs. The math would indicate the bulk of its audience is in the non-coveted (by advertisers) 55+. One would think, compared against KTYS, between the older audience and economic downturn, KPMZ's revenue would be behind what KTYS was pulling.

The wife likes it. Being a drop in 96.7 gets killed in the morning by the Spanish language co-channel station at my location. Even the non-radio savvy Mrs notices it.

The music still needs some focus, they still play too many "bad" songs because they're soft (Tracy by the Cuff-Links). And I think the cutsie RC imaging has run its course. Ron gets on there and plays to what's left of his "crowd." if you don't get his quirkiness then the liners etc. sound like what they really are, dumb.
I think they make money, when we bought them a few months ago I felt they were priced right for what they deliver (long-hour listening, not PPM friendly but I don't think that's the point). KLUV is still a better, more diverse buy. They are a local, emotional buy for an advertiser. If part of the plan is to be a training ground for sales weasels to learn how to SELL to local clients, then they're doing the industry a favor (I hold my breath on that though).

They're compared to (I think it's) Love 105 in Minneapolis. I'll be there in a few days. It'll be interesting to hear what the parallel is between the two.

I like the soft processing, and I like the large library.
Larry Dixon is a prince and Gail Lightfoot is a princess.
I wish them well, but since I'm not a female aged 35 to 49, I don't listen much.
Still, I have a pre-set on the car radio for 96.7.

All the processing dialogue is real nice, but the station has to make money. This is a nightmarishly bad idea. Created to change for the sake of it, with no direction other than stroking egos and arrogance of the leadership and Chapman. The demos are unsalable and you have to know if you spent a minute in radio that any sales are coming from selling KSCS and BAP short. It was better as Twister on many fronts. They recreated another version of Memories, after learning Memories could not serve the signal it covered. Yet another bit of proof that says that Citadel leadership has no business running radio stations.

I still think Dallas needs a Bada** Rock and Roll Oldies Station.
Havent had one since 92.1 went to the Possums...

I was really hoping Platinum would go Rock and Roll

92.1 was oldies - I thought. Couldn't compete with KLUV so they became yet another country bumpkin station. Off my presets that very day.

Try the Dove in Tampa. This is what a true AC is all about and it's #1 in the market. Very good music variety.

WDUV is not a AC...playlist is exclusively non-current (there is no contemporary to make it "adult contemporary"). It is a sort of soft AC/standards (30+ year old non-rock hits) hybrid heavily focused on 70s soft rock...musically, not far from KAAM. Like KAAM, its audience is mostly seniors. Unlike KAAM, WDUV, of course, is in a market where there are a lot of seniors and its on a 100kw FM signal. Like KAAM, it is nowhere near being a major player for the 25-54 demo.
