It's been real

Hey folks,
It's quite possible the newspaper coverage of the radio industry is a dead issue, and that perhaps boards and web news are the way to handle it...

Clea - as someone outside the area who has yet to read your work - and likewise, send unbalanced mail - I agree that it's unfortunate how many radio and TV columnists are being, well, tuned out. Most recent, Robert Feder wrote his last column for the Chicago Sun-Times. The radio columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has moved on, as well. Are radio and TV columns in the newspaper a dying breed? More and more, as you said, I've seen such reporting transcend into the Internet medium, especially in blog form. Michael Klein from the Philadelphia Inquirer is a favorite of mine, and I read his blog a lot. That said, I hope his column isn't discontinued anytime soon!

Oh, and Clea, perhaps you know who Jeff Ryan is - he started his career in the New England area. His blog is located here: http://ramblingwithryan.blogspot.com .

Hope you land on your feet soon... D.J.
