It's OFFICIAL, 1230 drops Air America

Start of the new year will be WYTS (for Your Talk Station).

Didn't get the official line-up but I did catch they will be bringing Ingram, Savage and Jim Rome on. Joel Riley will be on both 1230 and 610 I believe.

I might've heard wrong, but I didn't hear them say Joel Riley would be on both WTVN and whatever 1230 will be called now. I think Riley will only be on 610.

You could be right lifeuw19... I was trying to listen to the announcement over a whining 4-year-old in the back seat so I only caught bits and pieces. I *thought* they had said that he'll be on both but I could be totally off the mark.

They also said they would carry Fox Sports overnights "some nights" and talked about also having some sort of show for Truckers... didn't catch the name.

All I heard was Savage and Jim Rome... and I can't be more happy for Jim Rome coming back to Columbus. I had a heck of a time tuning him in from Cleveland and Spielman for more than 5 minutes hurt my head.

Quinn and Rose in the morning (from Pittsburg)
Laura Ingram 9-12
Jim Rome 12-3
Dave Ramsey 3-6
Savage 6-10
Missed what comes after that except I heard sports and the truckers show overnight.

Great ... more syndicated conservatives spewing Bushie's talking points (and this is coming from someone who is a conservative). Now we get to hear 24 hours of talking points about how great the war is going and how the New York Times is deliberately hiding news of the successes the military is having all over there.

It won't last any longer than any other format they've tried. There's got to be some way to make the station sound local. Half the reason people don't listen is because it sounds like it's on auto-pilot.

If they can't figure out what to do with it, I say donate it to OSU and let the students have a station!

So, basically another 55 KRC... sorta.

May be not same exact shows, but the same idea.
Wow.

well, i guess i don't have a reason to turn off Sirius anymore

my clock radio alarms are changing to 820

What a poor decision.

I'm like you. I lean more conservative. But Stephanie and Big Eddie had decent shows. On decent signals, I think they could make a go of it.

Precocious kid. He/she was actually making a pithy editorial comment on the new 1230 content: Drown it out!

Does the same Clear Channel Manager out of Cincinnati manage this station too? He seems to not like Progressive Talk at all and doing what he can to get rid of it. I wonder if some rich rightie is giving him money under the table to do what he can to sabotage it?

Terrestrial radio is on it's last legs. Soon Sat Radio and wireless internet radio will destroy the old ways of radio. If us old farts don't change our stubborn ways, radio as we knew it is dead. The good ole days of radio appear to be over.

"it's" should be "its"

Really glad to be getting Rome back in Columbus also. Don't need to try and pick him up out of Dayton anymore. If they were smart, they would try and make an agreement with the Columbus Clippers. With them moving to a new downtown stadium in 2 years I really feel intrest in the team is going to really take off again. Just the opinion of one happy sports fan here in Columbus.

And, by the way, the management and sales people are the same that otherwise have the qualifications and ability to manage and sell the top three stations in town.

...and to doggedly waste the first new city-grade FM to hit Columbus in over 40 years. 93.3 didn't even break a 3 in the latest trend. Oh, but, gee, they may have shaved 0.3 from Sunny. How nice for the Columbus radio landscape. Continued thanks to you, "wonderful" CC/Columbus management.

Especially with Sean, if you are critical of this President on Iraq, then you're aiding the enemy and not supporting the troops.

Wouldn't supporting the troops also mean wishing for them not to be in a position to be killed for senseless reasons? Don't get me wrong, I am not anti-war, I am anti-Iraq war. I think we are right to be in Afghanistan, should have more troops in places like Iran and North Korea where there is a real nuclear threat... but Iraq has been a disaster and a lot of American men and women have died for very little payoff. (not to mention the number of Iraqi citizens that are being killed everyday over there (militant and innocent). "Civilians reported killed by military intervention in Iraq 51,475-57,019." -www.iraqbodycount.org)

{stepping down from soapbox on Radio message board}

Like everything else in Columbus...a few people will get fired up for 15 minutes and then move on to something else.
