While I didn't hear the segment and have mixed feelings re: John, *some* would argue that the juxtaposition of that song (which actually was a monster hit, well-known in the Dr. Demento type circle, and actually pretty funny not to mention ear-catching) with a related topic is indeed creative and interesting. Maybe the scratches on the track offended someone...IMHO, the fact that a human brain actually thought to interweave a song and topic in that manner (beyond a repetitive Homeless Update theme, etc.) is worth at least a modicum of respect. Time will tell if the sensibilities are creative and engaging (and if John and KD can sell the esoteric).
