It's official... Sean Rima on KTSA

Saw that Rima posted this on Facebook.

"The Sean Rima Show" can now be heard weeknights, 4 pm - 7, on 550 KTSA in San Antonio! The website is http://ktsa.com/!

Gave this move some more thought.

The Kevin Wall show is basically Joe Pags' (Obama-bashing/Presidential election news items of the day) material delivered by someone who is 10-15 years older than and even stodgier than Pags. (No Twitter, no webcam, interaction mainly by phone.)

When I've heard Sean Rima fill in, it seems like he does the same kind of show as Pags, but he appears to be about 10 years younger than Pags.

Maybe instead of hiring a new guy to bang the same drums as WOAI, KTSA should try something completely different? ::)

I've always liked Joe Pags because he never really thinks through issues before he gets on a soapbox, he's just trying to placate the uber-conservative audience, so his positions are clearly not to be taken seriously.

The few times I listened to Sean on 98.9 I thought that he handled things with a touch of humor and didn't seem to take himself so seriously. I think he'll do well on KTSA, I always preferred their lineup to what the big blowhard had on, more Texas less RNC neo-conservative party line.

Someone needs to wake up the "web person" at KTSA. Just visited the site to see how KTSA is promoting the Sean Rima Show. Low and behold, Kevin Wall is still listed...many ways to interact with Kev.

*ZERO* mention of Rima.

Could it be that he will go the same way that Woody went last fall? Instead of parting ways, park his "show" on KTSA. After it fails in a month or two (which it WILL), you quietly put some other brokered show or syndication in its place.

Cut costs at all costs no matter what the cost.

Why even bother?

Is the stream even working today? I tried yesterday and got nothing, so listened in my car. Still got nothing - worth listening to. People pay more attention to their podcasts than the management of KTSA does their radio station.

I haven't checked their streaming in at least a couple of months... Checked this morning and it took two tries to get their streaming to load. It appears they made changes in their streaming software..

Stream is working. Sean ranting about Chaz Bono and Polygamy. I am sure many here in SA love these riveting topics. Also, sounds like ISDN via stream. Is he here in town? Will he be raving about Chris Madrid's soon? Or visiting La Fogata?

Or is he doing this live "San Antonio Talk Show" from Austin?

Live. Somewhat local. Almost irrelevant. KTSA. Back to Pags.

Talk radio sucks. It's the same crap dished out by different Rush/Sean wannabees. Here is the formula: Speak opinion like it was fact, talk loud, cut people off, and throw your non-believers under a bus. Then back over them. The whole genre is cheap to produce and craps cash. Put that on your resume.

P.S. I love you all. ;D

Radio Hound--I must admit that your post made me laugh out loud.

The only person I've heard using "crap" that often in a sentence is Sean himself. Add to it the "speak opinion like its fact (and don't check your facts), talk loud, cut people off, run em over and back over them" and you...sound like Sean!

I guess his greatness has rubbed off on someone. Congrats.

Yawn.

Did Kevin Wall have a "goodbye, farewell" show or was his plug yanked out of its socket like Jeff Koch's was a few years ago? So far, the new guy sounds just like any other nationally syndicated talk radio host, re-hashing generic cable/internet gossip/rumor topics that have already been over-hashed all day long while pretending to be one of the local guys.

Give him a chance. He's not a bad kid.

I never felt like Kevin Wall was local at all. Never once heard him mention the mayor or Durango Boulevard, or moan about how much Sheryl Sculley is making. Dude has plenty of love for Lamar Smith and Quico Canseco, though.

In her column today, Jeanne Jakle explains why KTSA replaced Wall with Rima. Here's the quote from Wall: ""What was clear, what I was told, was that the company wanted to do afternoon drive cheaper, much cheaper."

That's an answer that's gotta hurt to read if you've been in this business for a long time.

Kevin Wall sounds bitter....check KTSA ratings and that should give you an indication why he was let go.
