Don't forget the Arthur Liu-owned brokered jukebox on 1430 AM in Newark.

WNSW is not a brokered jukebox. It runs Spanish Christian programming. It's leased to Radio Cantico Nuevo...

Brokered, leased... these days, it makes no difference.

I can't hear Mia1430 at night on the air; it's overpowered by a radio station somewhere in New York or New Jersey. I'll have to listen to it online, especially at night!

That would probably be WENE Endicott (Binghamton) NY, which, at night, uses a five-tower array to send the equivalent of almost 50 kW ND in this general direction. WNSW Newark also used to be a big problem for the local 1430 but probably not so much now. The station lost its transmitter site in (I think) Union NJ and has moved to Clifton, which is further north. While the construction goes on, WNSW is operating at reduced power from the Clifton site (diplexed with WPAT 930). When the construction is complete, WNSW will run 10 kW-D/7 kW-N from WPAT's four towers. Despite the increased power, the signal toward Boston at night will be reduced from what it used to be from the old site. BTW, the owner of WNSW is MRBI (WLYN and WAZN in this market).

A post on boston-radio-interest says that the person (M. Gonzales) was listening this morning and the DJ
said Rumba ends at 3 pm today, Mia 1430 continues on (Rumba can be found in some form at a website)
so are we looking at some kind of stunt of: best of Rush shows till Mon at noon; endless repetition of
Rush's theme song, that Pretenders tune about Akron OH, "My City was Gone"?

WXKS just ran an announcement in Spanish and from what I could gather it was something like
we have run Rumba for 3 years, now it's going off on March 8 but you can turn to AM 1430, etc.
I'm recording from 2:53 till about 3:15 to see if they're running a stunt (prob will)

Don't go there now but in a short while there may be a file up at http://raccoonradio.freehostia.com/WXKS
(and look for it there. After 3:15 or so.

"Join me weekdays from noon to 3, and practically every other hour, right here on Rush Radio."

LOL!

Thanks for clipping and sharing, Raccoon!

It seems they're doing a loop of the Rush Radio promo...

..but running Coast to Coast now.

Have been told the voice was the guy you said though as I understand it it's spelled McMann.
