It's official! "Zach" signs on in Albany!

All Access.com reports that WMRZ-98.1, licensed to Dawson, Ga., officially signed on the air at 10:52 a.m., local time. So, it looks like "Jack", er "Zach" has invaded southwest Georgia. Any questions?

I can't see how this format will work. I would be more excited about it and have more faith in it if C.C. had not turned on Magic 97.3 a couple of months ago. "Zach" will have to pull an Albany legend for talent to get a buzz at best. Magic scored big by doing the same thing, getting Jazzmine as PD. What part of Albany's market is "all about the music"?

Agreed. Why didn't the WMRZ management go after a format that's more popular in southwest Georgia, or could use competition against established stations, such as urban gospel, news/talk, etc.?
