Well it is that time again where twice a year the armchair PD's of RI get to talk about the Rockford ratings... The big winner as always is the cloud company with XXQ and ZOK leading the way... Now let me stop there and say that ZOK was down a good clip, but they are still in second... Doug has B 103 really sounding good and it is showing in the ratings... I like the welcome back weekends that are on B 103 and with its sister station Y 95 going backwards in the ratings there could be room for adult hits to pop up on Y 95... Back to B they and sister station WXRX are holding things together for the horse company, but WYHY and WNTA need some serious work and now... WNTA has went in a total reverse direction and things are not working... When you get beat by out of market stations it is time to go back to the drawing board and try something new... Glad to see QFL make a comeback in the ratings... If they would open up the playlist and get live jocks in the studio Q would be a really tight sounding Christian CHR... With NRG showing some decent numbers in Rockford with WSJY it would be very smart for them to try and grab some of the rockford market... If NRG took a big interest in Rockford I could see WSJY climbing in the ratings.... I know there are other stations I forgot to mention, but the ole' brain is starting to hit shutdown mode so I will let you guys give your thoughts... CC
 
With WXXQ continuing to be strong, and WJVL showing up in the markrt, is it time for another local country station? How about a country "gold" 70's thru 90's type format on an FM? With WLUV being basically a daytime signal and the mish mash of programming on there now, would it work?
