It's That Time of The Month Again....

"GET READY TO GRUUUUMMMMMBBLLLLLLLE...."

Lot of stations that don't show ... are they doing better "in-demo" or do they have a different business model that sustains the thought of keeping it a "going concern". Take Hubbard's 1150, for example...is revenue from air time all that they need and it is not dependent at all on showing up in ratings? Same with 1540 and other ethnic-specialty programming (or others like 1050, 1460) -- they doing okay keeping the lights (and transmitter) powered up with donations, community advertising, or whatever?

The cynical side of me says many of these have outlived their usefulness -- but if they still serve a community under their own business model ... so be it.

Many of the stations that do not show are simply not subscribers. The publicly released 12+ data does not include non-subscribers, although the data that subscribers get does include all of them.

Many stations with low shares do not get on agency buys, so there is no need for ratings. Same for some ethnic stations where buys are mostly "in the community".

KVRQ still at the bottom below a 3-share. A big jump for KIRO-FM (Seahawks I presume), plus a big jump for KQMV. What's up with that drop for KZOK? But as KRWM starts their transition into All-Christmas they'll be at #1 the whole time, like every year.

From my perch, The rockers (KISW, KZOK, KVRQ, KNDD) all got a trim. News/Talk formats really got a boost, due to the, um, surreal times we are currently living in.

Say what you will about KUOW, but they work HARD for their daily bowl of gruel and rations.

Both commercial News/Talk stations have sports play by play and the sports stations gobbling up minutes talking about the Seahawks.

Does anyone here know enough of the real numbers to tell us whether 1090 KFNQ rates at all in the male demos? It's hard to believe that Jim Rome and Scott Ferrell's programs don't have much audience. The 6+ numbers show the station at 0.1.

Also, anecdotally, would be curious how the CBS sports effort compares with KRKO in Everett...
