Leno, O'Brian, or Fallon???????????????????????
 
I believe that the following will happen:

Conan will go to FOX.
Jay won't like the half-hour, he will either get a syndicated talk show or reality show or just plain retire to go motorcycle riding and car hunting with his wife.
Jimmy Fallon gets the ax.
Jeff Zucker is fired.
The Tonight Show ends its 58 year run as a show.
Law and Order will live forever on NBC.
 
Personally, I'd love to see the Boston affiliate, WHDH, which predicted the Leno primetime project would be a flop, to start airing a 10 PM newscast, just for spite.
 
This is all stupid. If anyone on NBC should get the ax it should be Fallon. His show isn't as funny as i thought it would be and Conan is way funnier and is more liked than him, in my opinion.

If Conan went to FOX why wouldn't Leno get his full hour back and Fallon continue as he is now?
 
Conan isn't going to FOX, nor is Fallon.

Knowing what buffoons there are running NBC, my bet is that Carson Daly ends up being the last man standing when the music stops. That's pretty dumb, because his show is quite a bit better than Fallon's. But, my guess is that if anyone goes - it will be Daly.
 
Carson Daly has a morning drive radio gig here in Los Angeles at 97.1 KAMP-FM and is going after Ryan Seacrest's audience on 102.7 KIIS-FM. Carson is actually making a significant dent on Seacrest's numbers which for years have been #1 in that time period. Carson Daly has plenty on his plate if Last Call vaporizes.

Carson has been on the air at AMP for a grand total of 7 days now. How is he "making a dent" in Seacrest's ratings in only 7 days?

I believe if Conan doesn't accept the 1/2 bump of following Leno at 12:05, Jay gets the tonight show back (and a full hr).

Obviously you can guess what Leno is hoping for.
 
I just read Conan's letter to "the People of Earth" (http://www.tmz.com/) in which he expresses his disappointment, and resistance to moving his show to 12:05.

Considering the enormity of this fiasco...I think it's fair to call it the biggest programming fiasco in network television history - not to mention the way it is playing out in public, I would be absolutely shocked if Comcast doesn't fire Zucker and his minions once they take over.

Talk about "damaged goods" - I can't see either Leno or Conan succeeding with the Tonight Show at this point. Either way, it will be a death-watch...kind of like the entertainment version of Chrysler. Maybe Comcast should step aside, and let Fiat buy the network.

And people thought Fred Silverman was a programming pariah thirty years ago......Zucker's actions make Silverman's problems seem minor. At least NBC doesn't say that it's "Proud as a Peacock" anymore.

But then again, if you look at it.....they did have one thing in common, and about at this same time thirty years ago. Both were dealing with a network in the ratings cellar, and both were on the verge of losing the host of the Tonight Show. (If I recall correctly, Carson was threatening to leave NBC because Silverman demanded more work time from him.)

Carson on one hand, won his battle and got to keep his show (Carson Productions got ownership) and his time off, and got the show knocked down to 60 minutes, and laid the ground for Letterman to launch Late Night.

Conan, on the other hand, will probably lose this battle, and Jay will get Tonight back and poof....the last nail in the coffin for NBC's late night schedule.
 
Depending on the exact terms of Conan's contract, I believe that Jay will take a 30 minute show at 10:35/11:35 (world doesn't revolve arount ET/PT) and Conan's Tonight show will move back to 11:05/12:05. If NBC can move Conan 30 minutes without penalty, then it will do so. If, on the other hand, Rupert opens the pursestrings and offer more than the NBC contract, it's anybody's guess.
