Whoops! Uh-oh! HD is outmaneuvered once again by faster-moving, more perceptive, and frankly brighter innovators. Just tune in your good ol' reliable FM analog station (listened to daily by untold millions) while you've got the tagging site up on your computer - which auto-refreshes for every song - and tag the song you like for instant download.

Simple. Reliable. Common-sense. Easy to use. FREE. All highly-desired qualities decidely lacking in HD Radio, the technology nobody wants except greedy, self-interested egocentric solder-jockeys like Glynn Walden and Tom Ray, and empty suits like Dan Mason and whoever the NAB moron-du-jour happens to be.

The list of reasons to abandon HD Radio continues to grow.

The stations who offer Itunes tagging on their analog are likely the EXACT SAME STATIONS who will offer it on HD! DUH! The big, group-owned stations with huge budgets, and IT departments will adopt this FIRST!

Interesting that Itunes tagging was a dumb idea when it was for HD only. Now it's brillinat. Hmmm.

It's the HD multicast channels where people are likely to actually hear unfamiliar music! There and on public radio (LPFM, and other small broadcasters who actually value variety).

Nice parlor trick. But in this day of file sharing, who's going to use it? And I'm referring to the feature itself, whether it's HD or analog.

OK, maybe for new music the feature might have some use (although I agree with Jerry Del C that the next generation is used to stealing music, old or new). But on stations that are perpetually airing the same 500 tracks from the 70's-90's or real oldies, most people have that music already or it can be gotten free from a friend.

The service itself seems automatic, in that, if your station, AM or FM, is in a rated market and has a web stream (with its attendant metadata), you're covered.

I think the real point here is that one of the major selling points that HD radio is using(at least on the commercials I've been
hearing on my local stations) is iTunes tagging. If someone was going to buy an HD radio because they like this feature, now
they don't have too. They can get the same results having an analog receiver. One less selling point for HD radio.

Yup, which is exactly why I posted it.
