Must be the computers at ABC are down because the "in the house" know-it-alls would have been on-line already! Rumors are flying--Darwin and Cat are gone at ABC! Word is they left on their own accord--back to EQX? They do need a morning show. Do I smell a wiff of format change? Does that put "The Enforcer" in charge for now?

Well, I'm sitting at my desk right now.

Yes, I did put in my notice today but I'm working out my two weeks - off the air.

Yes, this was my choice and mine alone.

Cat is NOT leaving. She remains here.. ABC... where our computers are working just fine. Or at least as good as they usually do.

The station is NOT flipping, there are no problems other than the one I've created by deciding to leave.

I have simply made the choice to do something else. That's all. It's hard to find a job when you have lots of tattoos, but I did and there I go.

So there you go.

I know you love your job Darwin.. you're a hard worker, you know radio and for the most part, love radio..I know things can be frustrating or tough sometimes.... so whatever you do, and wherever you end up.. I wish you the best!

The tattoos look good on you, so don't worry 'bout them......anyone who looks at that has an issue has too many of their own.

Hi Darwin.... This is Mark Williams. I'm uploading this from somewhere between Kansas City and St. Louis, on a 35 city speaking tour for "Our Country Deserves Better PAC." Started last week in Sacramento and end on the 29th in DC [EDIT]. I actually have DirecTv and Internet at 70 MPH on the tour bus, wrapped with pictures of John McCain, Sarah Palin, with a giant picture of my big puss staring down at traffic behind us :)

You are far too talented to be working for a creepy little toad like Jim and are wise to bail. I hope that whatever you are doing next is something that you want to do and something that feeds your creative side. Music or talk, it makes no difference, the medium is not important - the content is, and your content is very good. Radio is a dead end for now and I only hope it comes back. In the meantime my platform is multi-headed: Web, print, part time TV and part time radio - now I have added this traveling road show with 2-4 live "shows" a day (for this trip) before audiences ranging from a handful to 5,500 today (in Kansas City.) Had around 60 people for a rally in your old stomping grounds of Flagstaff (at city hall) last Friday.

For an artist like you too, the medium is unimportant but your work is. I look forward to what you do next!

My best to you and to Cat, miss you guys --- do NOT miss working for an idiot and staying in his derilict motel, is is nice to be happy - I had no idea how miserable I was working for that little -----. You'll have the same feeliing ;D

(PS, thanks to the insider who emailed me the link to this thread)

[EDIT-off topic]

This "in the house" know-it-all knew all about it but chose not to post out of respect for Darwin & Cat.

Now that the "cat" is out of the bag:

Darwin has accepted an amazing job (you'll see it in the trades soon) and we should all be happy for him and wish him well. He really deserves it. Best of luck, my friend!

Meantime, who cares if the Good Ship Pamal sinks?

I hear that the "Good Ship Pamal" knows that if you look in the window at a 45 degree angle you'll see Boomer, in the house.

Let's hope the ship doesn't sink! There are many good people that are employed there who wouldn't land on their feet easily.

MT3 you said "There are many good people that are employed there who wouldn't land on their feet easily"

You're right. They're "good" but just not "good in radio." All the real good people have been LET GO by the ABC brass.

And should you see Boomer, ask him about the close call he had outside the Johnson Road building.

oh you must be dating the drama queen

I think its clear.. the people who hide behind screenames.. have a lot to say.

Ralph wasn't referring to me... but there has been a lot of BS that people are airing on here and I think Ralph is fed up with it.

Ralph - you're a good dubie... I'll miss you man!

Renna...don't take it personal, you are one hard working dude. ABC should be happy to have the dedication. Darwin, I hate to see you go. The station won't be the same without you. Honestly...where to next? the fans want to know.

I agree, I've only had the opportunity to listen to Darwin a couple times because of my work schedule.. but he's good and I'm sure wherever he goes, he'll be a great asset to the station and become even betetr at his craft.

I'm really happy.. and proud for him. One of these days, I hope to meet him for lunch so we can shoot the breeze about radio.

Hey Ralph! Stick with the emails notifying us that the lunchwagon is here ;)

I'll leave it to Darwin to tell all when the time is right.

The last time anyone at ABC was referred to as a "hard working dude" he was out the door within a week.

Walter worked hardest of all and was definitely ABC's most valuable employee (and most underappreciated by management). Matter of fact, all of the greats who have come and gone GAVE ALL but got back little more than a kick in the hiney on the way out the door. Think John Foxx, Sugar Bear, Alan Metz, Mark Williams, etc. etc. etc.
