IYO Format Question

Does anyone think that a Christian CHR station would do well in central NC?

A mix of C-CHR(Casting Crowns, Relient K, Sanctus Real), C-Rock(Skillet,etc), and "Rythm & Praise" (Grits, CrossMovement)

Youth-driven, fast pace imaging, local in as many dayparts as possible.

Thoughts?

Maybe- G104 in Rockingham tried that and it was OK. EMF has a lot of Love stations round here though. Try it- who knows?

NO.. WWGL in Lexington tried and did a pretty decent job but bailed!!

WBJF in Winston-Salem does a nice job of the format. They are somewhat visible but NO ratings! I see a lot of their bumperstickers, but they are not a factor in ratings at all.

::) Off the subject, but, speaking of that station brings back memories of "Curley Howard"..Mike, do you know if he's still living? Boy do I have some stories about him! APE

Haven't heard anything about Curley in ages. Don't know his current status, but will check with Charlie Brown.

The last station I knew Curley to be working with was WKMT in King's Mountain...and that's 7 or 8 years ago.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I think I remember that he died since then...complications of the bottle.

It seems that just about everyone in the business in the 70's and 80's knew Curley Howard, and EVERYONE had an opinion about him.

Characters like him, and Dwight Barker and Johnny Shack just don't exist in this business any more.

Later....
