J.D. Hayworth's chances of heading back to TV?

Since he is no longer a congressman, I was wondering what chance (if any) does he have to come back to TV? I'm certain he cannot get a job as a sports anchor in Phoenix again, but will AZ-TV be calling to offer him a weekly conservative political commentary show (third time may be a charm for them after failed attempts from Tom Liddy and Keith DeGreen)?

If not, I say he gets hired by 960 the Patriot.

If he returns to TV at all, my guess is that it'll be on Fox News Channel, either as a weekend host or contributor to Hannity & Colmes or Bill O'Reilly.

If he returns to radio, I think he'll get a more high-profile local gig (read: AM or PM drive host at KFYI, moving Jacobs or Crummy elsewhere) than what Salem can provide.

I doubt Hayworth goes to KFYI, if only because Clear Channel is looking to sell and won't want to take on high-priced talent. JD would be costly.

I suspect he would have a better shot hosting something on a cable network or getting some sort of syndicated radio deal. I could dream up a scenario in which Salem was to hire him and put him on a national show like they do for Prager, Medved, etc. It wouldn't be surprising to see him host a weekend show on Fox News Channel or MSNBC.

Of course, it's all conjecture.

His best bet would be to sign on as a political commentator for Fox or MSNBC. Then, if he wants to live here in Arizona, it would be fine.

He could also do a daily radio show as well. Surely, one of the many conservative talk radio stations would kill to have him.

Then again, he would be an excellent host for something like "Sunday Square Off" on 12 News Sunday Morning. He has a great voice and would probably make a great news anchor if he wanted to do something like that.

Eric: Both Tom and Keith bought airtime from AZ-TV, and produced shows in which they were solely responsible for the content. They chose politics. We have yet, as a station, to launch such a show on our own and have no present plans to do so.

I watch SSO every week so I am not sure if something like this (hosting a panel show) would be good for Mr. Hayworth. A permanent panel member representing conservative thinking would be better.

Regarding a national show on Fox or MSNBC, was JD a big enough national name? I guess that didn't stop Joe Scarborough or John Kasich. JD does have charisma and a great speaking voice.

In the early-2000's, I watched Fox and MSNBC all the time. JD appeared frequently on both of those networks. I didn't live in Arizona at the time and really didn't know him well (except that he was the politician with the radio announcer voice). Often, his voice (not his political statements) would win debates with less articulate democrats.
