what happened to all the rumors about JD coming back? Haven't heard anything, from anyone, about this for the past couple of weeks.

Helen's show isn't catching on. She's not getting many calls at all and always sounds hysterical.
 
No JD for HJJ... turns out they don't have the money.

I heard Hellen last week - and I thought the exact same thing. She sounds like she's always bitching about something... like she only has one mode. If all you do is rant... people will eventually stop listening. (And judging by the fall HJJ number... they already have).
 
It's to bad too because JD is good in Rhode island but not quite so accepted outside the state. Boston was a nightmare for him. There really is no place else for him to go at this point. Where's he going to go? Fall River or New Bedford? He would probably kill himself first.

I hear J.D. in late Feb. And what about Tony Farr. He gets smeared on Yorkes show. Can't be part of Allens anymore. And I haven't heard him anywhere?

J.D. 3 to 6 would put Yorke in his place real quick. It would be a welcome home comming. Walter
 
How much money does he want? Offer him $80,000 for the first year with a $10,000 Bonus for every full point the ratings have increased at the end of that year. It will give him a chance to prove himself again and it will also allow WHJJ to see if listeners still crave him.
 
He's not worth $80,000... and he's a pain in the ass to boot. At the end of her tenure at HJJ, Arlene was making over $100,000. Those days are over. It won't happen.
 
Arlene was making close to 200,000 dollars a year.
Depetro was making 300,000 at WRKO. Thats figure is from 2 long termers at RKO.

I don't know if Depetro is coming back to Rhode Island or not. I do know he'll start with at least what Arlene was getting.

Thing is HJJ is still in limbo.
 
Doesn't make sense that wrko would pay that much - word of mouth on their new morning host, former speaker of the house in Massachusetts, Tom Finneran, is that he's getting $200K to do mornings. John would have been getting substantially less.

If WHJJ can't come up with $100K to get Johnny back on - money which they'd make back very quickly - its either because of new owners not wanting to invest in their stations (perhaps because they'll spin hjj off?) or because its true that no one could stand JD there and they do'nt want to deal with him.

Question - if he doesn't get a gig in Providence, where does John go next? Back to sales in NYC?

He is a good interviewer. Low key, asks good questions.

I wonder if he would be a good talk host?? Was he not involved with a Junior College in New Jersey, a Dean, I think I remember his comment accurately.
