Just got the bulletin in my email from KIRO-TV-7. A true Seattle TV icon that I watched and loved as a child and met as an adult--and thoroughly enjoyed the time I had chatting with Chris Wedes has passed away. Makes me reflect on how short life really is and to enjoy each and everyday that we are given! I've included the bio that I found....J.P. had quite the life and I have the utmost respect for the man and his talent.
I even proudly have my "Patches Pal" membership card I got from one of his appearances at the MOHAI around 2004.
Here's the link from the seatac blog:

Chris Wedes, better known as TV clown J.P. Patches, died Sunday morning after a long battle with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer.
