J93.3 Drops John Tesh and Changes To Their Playlist

J93.3 seems to be doing some much needed modernization to their playlist and station. They recently dropped John Tesh according to the new Facebook fan page due to contract expiration. J93.3 has also spruced up their playlist and is now playing more current Christian music. Look for J93.3 to make some impressing moves in the next trends. I am so proud of this station. Doing an excellent Job! More Christian Radio stations need to make major changes and without being to culture realistic become more flexible in their playlists and start mixing positive mainstream hits into the Christian music to attract more non Christian listeners to reach more of an audience and help people come to know Christ.

I haven't noted any difference in the playlist so far - still the old Adult Contemporary that the Fish plays.

J93 would do well to go Christian CHR, but the easiest way to do this would be to sign up with Air1.

Take a look below at Air1's top 20, and all the songs that we never hear on Atlanta Christian radio, especically the ones that have mainstream appeal which would attract listeners that normally would not listen to Christian radio. (Flyleaf, Switchfoot, Red, Kris Allen, etc).

It's stupid that Valdosta and Thomson have great Christian CHR FM stations with the Air1 network, while big 'ol Atlanta suffers with 2 boring AC stations.

You are not listening long enough. Go to yes.com and look at their playlist it has changed dramatically. They are not CHR but leaning more to it. They play no more Steven Curtis Chapmen and Amy Grant. Just go check it out. You will see.

I hope you are right, but after looking/listening it seems like small timid baby steps.

I also noticed that there is no mention of the great Sat night rock show Late Night Live on the website, so I guess that has been canned - definitely a step in the wrong direction.

Right now the best Christian music is on 99X and Project - Flyleaf, POD, Switchfoot, Red, Skillet, Owl City, etc)

A Christian station that mixed these groups in with other Christian pop/rock,some power praise, and a dose of Christian urban/hip-hop would do great in this town.

Late Night Live is still on. Its called Late Night now because obviously its voicetracked. But yah im so glad 99x is picking up on some of the rock. But J933 is finally making some small steps.
