CHR Christian station on HD within two years with rebroadcast on analog in Carrollton, LaGrange, Columbus, and Morrow. 101.9 being Carrollton Rebroadcast.

I wonder why such an announcement 2 years out. I wondered what WVFJ was going to do with those translators but can they rebroadcast a HD station without it having an analog signal somewhere to origionate. Plus wouldn't the HD signal cover less of Atlanta than the analog signal does now. It looks like LaGrange will be at 99.3, Columbus at 94.1 and Morrow at 102.1 for the translators.

I believe the Fish is the only FM Atlanta station with no digital signal. Salem does not seem to have those.

Both stations, J93 and The Fish, can not cover major portions of the metro area with a digital(HD Radio) signal. Both stations will need to wait until the analog is turned off and digital power can be increased.
All those translators are owned by Radio Training Network which is affiliated with J93's parent company Watkins Inc. I would not assume that those translators will carry J93.....my guess is it will be His Radio Network on those frequencies.
J93, I'm told, will construct the new tower somewhat south of their present tower. On this new site they will operate with a full 100,000 watts at 1500 feet. I assume the consultants have a plan to improve Atlanta coverage from the new site.

I live in Carrollton, Ga and those towers have been up since last year. They are just sitting there. Nothing is on it . I live a mile from it. All I pick up is Y102 out of Montgomery and it is very clear out here. I dont know how much range they are going to really have to be able to get a great signal anyway. Is HD radio the way to go now?

I've been reading the Atlanta board for several years and remember multiple posts concerning J93 trying to improve Atlanta coverage. Just how many new towers has this station built? I believe I've seen posts on several different applications to move. Did they actually build out all those sites? If they did, where is the money coming from? How valuable is J93 compared to other Atlanta stations?

They have 4 towers including the manchester main tower, morrow, carrollton, and columbus. but none of them have anything on them . They are just waiting on the HDRADIO singal and then they are rebroacasting in analog. I dont know where they get the money from at all.
