I've never heard the station, Mr. Bored-Op...I don't listen to either of the two in my market.

But I guarantee you it's theater. Sure there are limits but I'll bet there's some qualifier that enables them to take that position, should they be challenged on it.

24 years ago, when I was working for 'GR alum Larry Anderson in Wheeling, WV...we put a Legal ID on the air that began:

"Of all the stations in the Upper Ohio Valley, we're #1!"

And we were #1...in the Hungerford Revenue Report.

“We’re number #1 with midget aboriginal Lithuanian ballerinas on Tuesdays, 12 Midnight to 3:15 AM!”

“We play what we want ‘cuz we don’t know Jack s*#t about programming a radio station, so instead, we just Jacko*#, all the time!”

Exactly.

How about a station that features train wrecks? You know playing songs back to back that do not fit together. Call it Trainwreck 93 or something?

Don't blame anyone locally. Buffalo's Jack (like many others) comes from Dial Global.

We've already had a format like that. It was called 107.7 The Lake. I believe you can safely call hearing James Taylor's "Carolina On My Mind" into Heart's "Baracuda" a "train wreck". Or... how about B-52's "Rock Lobster" after the Eagles "I Can't Tell You Why"...!
