No, no DJs yet... but starting tomorrow 11/17 @ 5pm until Mon the 20th, Jack is having an "Excellent 80s Weekend" where it seems they're not gonna play anything but 80s music. (Isn't that what they're already doing?
)
Then, all day Thanksgiving, they're gonna have the "Turkeys of Rock and Roll"... whatever THAT is.
I heard about the 80s weekend while listening, but didn't see the Thanksgiving thing until I went to the site. Clicking on the pictures for both things doesn't do anything... so there's really nothing to elaborate on.
It's just interesting to see they're trying new things... oh man, imagine an "All Oldies Weekend" on Jack... THAT would be something to see. or listen. or something.
EDIT:
Actually, it'd be cool to see if they WOULD do an "All Oldies Weekend" as a kind of promotion for the WCBS-FM HD2 station (and HD radio in general), something like...
"Hey, here's a sample of what's on our HD2 station.. all weekend long on NY's 101.1 Jack FM"
"Wanna hear more? Go to your local electronics shop and get an HD Radio. Then, listen to your heart's content... with no subscription fees! For more info, go to hdradio.com"
"For all of you oldies fans out there, what would make a better Christmas gift than an HD radio? Then you can listen to all of your favorite songs with no subscription fees..."
"...and if you get bored of the HD2 channel, flip back to Jack on HD1 for real music variety, 24/7."
...maybe I'm giving CBS too much credit.. but with Clear Channel's recent happenings... you never know.
