I saw this ad on AllAccess. Are moves afoot at Pamal's Kingston kluster???

I hope Jack & Andre will be moving to WPDH if Coop & the other person who had taken over Tobin's place, but I would love to see those two go, but I hope Cumulus would be smart to put Jack & Andre into mornings to WPDH and give it a shot. Let WPDH do it and call the show:

"Jack and Andre in the Morning on the Home of Rock & Roll, 101.5 WPDH. Puh-keepsie!"
 
This morning mid-day guy JJ Carter hosting the morning show. Do you think he will be the new morning show host?
 
Wow. I didn’t see this coming. Jack and Andre are gone from the WBPM web site. They worked the Rally For The Galley, (a soup kitchen in Kingston) this past weekend, Friday anyway and everything seemed fine and normal .I wonder what happened
I looked at the add you spoke of and is dated Tuesday September 28, However Jack & Andre never said anything that I heard, although I cant listen to their entire show.
 
The Kingston Daily Freeman reported this morning that Jack Hammer resigned at the end of Saturday's fundraiser, and went to work at 94.3 WKXP-FM (The Wolf.) Andre Kane remains at WBPM, at least for now.
 
This is going to make for a long day for JJ Carter. All Access notes that he is also PD and PM drive jock on K-104 WSPK where he is known as Skywalker. I didn't know that. I didn’t mention this before but I am sorry to see Jack leave .The Hammer and Andre made a great team, and had the best morning drive in the Hudson Valley. While the Kingston Daily Freeman reports Jack is moving to WKXP 94.3 the Wolf I wonder, as the article mentions what he is doing on a Country Station. The Wolf’s web site is very meager and a link hints the domain may be for sale. Perhaps a format flip is coming soon. Or maybe he is getting his foot in the door at Cumulus hoping to move to the big station WPDH. My money is on the former.
 
Skywalker is not the PD of K104 but he is the APD of K104. Scotty Mac the mid-day host 10AM - 2PM is the PD of K104.
 
From what I have heard Randy Turner did not treat Jack and Andre with much respect at all.That came to me from someone who works in the Fishkill building.I was told Randy treated both morning hosts very badly,So I am sure they took whatever they could,to get out of a bad situation.Andre will not be going with The Hammer over to The Wolf,and he also is no longer employed by Pamal. He has decided to step down from the radio biz for a while.It looks like Jack and Andre remain very close friends.All that info came from a solid source.I am sure Randy is very happy that Jack and Andre have left,it is exactly what he wanted.I find it sad,because they really were a great team.If WBPM had a different PD in place they most likely would have stayed for many years to come.Jack and Andre will be missed greatly working together.I am curious to see how well The Hammer is going to do without his sidekick.I know I will be listening to see what goes on.The smart thing about bringing The Hammer over to The Wolf is with doing so, they are bringing in a whole new audience along with him.Jack and Andre had a big following and im sure that listenership will be following Jack over to the Wolf.

All access reports today that Cumulus of Poughkeepsie announced Jack Hammer will be the new morning host on WKXP/WZAD starting October 18. He replaces Erick Hopkins who moves down the hall to rock alternative WRRV doing mid days. Like I said it will be strange to hear Jack doing country. Therefore I doubt they will see lots of listeners switching from classic hits- rock to listen to his new gig, on a country station even though he is very talented. You are quite right that Jack & Andre working together will be greatly missed. The duo made the show great. I wonder why WKXP didn’t take both of then. Is it that Andre didn’t want to do country or is Cumulus to cheap to pay for a 2 person team on such a low rated station?
 
Well if those listeners don't switch over to country to hear The Hammer I would bet they most likely will head back to WPDH where they came from.It seems to me those listeners loved that station because they loved the morning show so much.Its not going to be easy for WBPM to recover from this,that is for sure.As far as Andre goes that is a good question.I am not sure if he decided to not go over and work at The Wolf or if they only brought jack over.I really haven't heard much about it.I would have to believe that the offer was for the both of them.Usually when a team is working together they don't split up to take a job.Most likely Andre turned down the offer.That is my guess.
 
I guess we were right, Jack Hammer was at WBPM since he first started back in February 2007 after it flipped from oldies to classic hits for a while and went back to rock like they did with the old WRKW back in 1999 since it first signed on the air as "Quality Rock" and WBPM is going to compete with its classic rock rival WPDH. He joined Andre as part of the "Electric Morning Show", and then it renamed as Jack & Andre for a few months until he left the station.

I hope Cumulus will get a shot on "The Wolf" to do mornings to go compete against CJ & Dee on WRWD. Good luck to Jack and Cumulus for calling the shots. We'll see what happens. If he succeeds with Jack Hammer's morning show, it will do better than CJ. If he doesn't do well, he will be going over to WPDH to do better as a classic rock WBPM type station.
 
Rumors are going around that "The Wolf" is talking about a change of format which is why they brought in Jack Hammer.They might be looking to compete against WBPM.Now that would be fun.
 
I'm sure andre's not being hired was a money issue. As far as the format- a good dj should be able to adapt to any format; but look at CJ- he sounds awful on wrwd. Dee should go back where she came from, sounds like a valley girl. I did also hear there was going to be a format change on 94.3- but to what--they have ac on mix; they have oldies on weok; PDH really sux as a classic rock station but its all there is and is a flamethrower. Wrrv has the rest of it pretty much covered.
As far as promoting a flip- I wonder if any of these folks ever did a format change---no stunting, no announcement till saturday, and switching dj's to fill the slot for a week at a time....geez come on......no mention of monday????
Guess you can tell when things are tough and the stations won't spend any money---this is what u get when u scrape the bottom of the barrel....workin' for peanuts..
I could not imagine working for Turner....his ego is so big you have to change area codes to get from one side of his head to the other....

I went shopping last night and believe it or not I ran into Andre at the supermarket.I saw him and approached him and asked him if he was in fact Andre and he said yes and shook my hand.I asked him what had happened and he told me he had decided to walk away from radio.He said he had many options as far as work.He said he could of stayed with Jack Hammer and went to The Wolf, he also said Pamal made him a nice offer to stay at WBPM.He said he got another offer to work mornings in The Hudson Valley but he said he couldn't say where that offer was from because they don't know that they are looking for his/her replacement yet.He said Jack was one of his best friends before working at WBPM and Jack is still one of his best friends now.I also asked him if he keeps in touch with Woodman and he said that Woodman is also one of his best friends and he talks to him all the time.I just thought I would put it out there that Andre is a really great guy and it was nice talking to him.He never once said anything bad about anyone.He will be missed on the radio.
 
No Surprise here ,Getting up pre dawn doing the morning show on WBPM live and then staying all day and doing afternoon drive 2-7live on K 104 was asking too much of JJ Carter . JJ is back VT midays on WBPM and Jessica, ho had been doing midays. is doing the morning drive.
