Jack Assets

From Inside Radio, June 30, 2006:

New Edison study says most Jacks and Bobs are "better off" than the stations they replaced.
Analyst Sean Ross says the joint Arbitron/Edison research shows that adult hits "has pretty clearly lost the omnipotence that some bestowed upon it at the outset." But the success of stations such as "Peak" in Phoenix - #1 25-54 in the Winter book after two years in the format - shows that adult hits can have legs.
---
A contradictory analysis which could be summed up as, "Jack stations are tanking, but there are a few that have made it work."

The key word in the entire 'graph, "can," found in the last sentence.

So far, insiders haven't mentioned any growth in the lifeless, canned Jack in Buffalo... although none of us would be able to tell given that Arbtron ratings no longer appear on public websites.

I may be wrong, but I'm told Phoenix Jack is live in at least two dayparts.
