Jack Audio

I drove my daughter's Honda the past few days - so I was without XM - and had to listen to 'regular' radio. I hadn't listened to 103.7 for awhile, but the audio was (and still is today) quite horrible, like they are sending the audio through a dial up phone line to the transmitter. It is painful to listen to such muddled audio. Does the HD sound this bad as well?

Actually I must STRONGLY disagree. I think it is probably the best-sounding FM in the area. IT IS LOUD but still remains clear. They seem to "pushing" the low end a little extra more the they were at first. Sound GREAT in the car.

Thats the problem! Why do people punch up the bass on every frikkin' station???

Listen to TV, Movies, The EQ is more natural. It's er, EQUALIZED. (even)

It is compressed to the maxed but sounds clean to me...I agree they have the bass up a bit (which sounds ok in stereo but not so good in mono)....and that typical of radio stations going for the women 18-34 demo....didnt think Jack was that demo...however, with the aggressive compression, this can lead to listener fatigue...Bob Orban discusses this a lot in processing papers, etc.
