Jack Boston Dead at 50!

WOW! Shocker. I knew he'd been under the weather recently, but I wasn't aware that he had leukemia. I worked with him in the 80s at WKZQ in Myrtle Beach. Funny mofo. Bad year for good radio peeps in the Carolinas. Michael Parnell, Mike Scott and now Jack Boston. Sad, sad day.

Jack was indeed a special person. I have never seen him loose his cool, even when things were crashing all around him. He was one of the best radio people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Always quick with a comeback, Jack would keep you on your toes! I will miss him RIP Jack.

Jack was such a cool guy.He was nice to me and we enjoyed each others sick sense of humor. He would call from time to time and he would always say "very amusing Mr.Vick" when we'd exchange quips. Some of my favorite stories revolve
around the Children's Hospital Remotes in Chapel Hill.He used to call me when I was doing afternoons in Goldsboro and try to disguise his voice. What a great guy and a once in a lifetime talent....

i remember growing up and listening to jack on DLX back in the day....he's one of the reasons i got into this business...never met him, but had an enormous amount of respect for the guy and his talent.

Jack was a great guy. I was his sidekick/news guy at B100, back in the 80s. I know there's an aircheck floating around the web of him giving me a zinger out of a newscast. He taught me a lot about radio, and was always generous with knowledge.
