Cox just launched their first "variety hits" station in Greenville, SC the week before last - 97.7 Chuck-FM.

98.9 Chuck-FM?...
Just sayin'.
 
Good call, just hope it's more than the same tired 400 songs every radio station in the world plays. Dig deep corporate radio........ :eek:
 
Listening to Chuck 97.7 right now. Just wish I can listen to it in Stereo. Big reason I don't listen to WMMO that often. When you listen to Cox Stations on the internet you only hear it in mono. At least not on the computer. Hopefully it isn't a Jukebox like all other stations Cox owns.
 
What about DJ Mo Radio 24/7 on FM?
After all, the last 2 call letters of 98.9 is WM... :D

For those who have listened, do you think it'll work?
And what format would best describe it?
Rhythmic AC? Submodern Rhythmic?

I must say 97.7 Chuck FM isn't like your other Cox Stations. I heard Variety, from the Bellamy Brothers to Red Hot Chili Peppers to some early Train. They also played stuff like Tiffany, Micheal Jackson, Janet Jackson and Debbie Gibson. That music is POP, Cox stations don't play POP. Anyone knows if Cox does a Classic Hits or 80's station they mainly focus on Rock music from white musicians.

I mean I never heard a Cox 80's station play Micheal Jackson or any 80's and 90's pop. Or a Classic Hits station play Disco. That includes all of the "Eagle', "Point" and whatever the hell other stations Cox owns.
 
Cox has classic rock stations masquerading as "classic hits" stations (see: 107.3 The Eagle, Tampa).
