Jack comes up Aces In LA

Pretty standard for any Jack station (or clone) to have a substantial increase in its first book or two.

The trick is keeping those listeners after the "Oh, Wow" factor wears off. Some have maintained well, others have seen a colossal drop after the third or fourth book.

This is a format that -- as I have said before, on several boards -- needs to be researched as well as a current-based station. There is an art to determining when a song goes from "oh wow" to "not again" in a listener's mind, finding the right songs to replace them, and knowing when the original song can go back into rotation.

A year from now, we'll know how well KCBS-FM is really doing ...

If these guys who run Jack are bright enough to have a good rotation, then maybe they can keep the station fresh.

Jack Aces In LA

That may be THE most important key to programming these stations.
