So Jack dies as of Thursday on CBS-FM in NYC. It was not long ago that the format was being heralded right here as another radio "savior." Oh well, nice try. Ben, Dave, Jack... the format cemetery is filled with these guys. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice try. But like others before them, they were no competition for mainstream formats. Americans like burgers and fries. Yes, they do eat sushi, but not nearly as often. I still say a "sound effects" format would be a big hit. All we need is one to start. Then, in usual radio fashion, little ducklings will lineup behind mother duck as they walk towards the cliff now known as "Jack." :D ;D
