Although it's only being made public now, the decision was finally made a few weeks ago by NESN as to who will do play-by-play of the away portion of their Bruins' hockey schedule.
This Boston.com article (Registration may be required) reports that Jack Edwards, a former Boston TV sports reporter who has also worked at ESPN, will call play-by-play of NESN's 34 Bruins' away games (Dale Arnold will continue to call NESN's 36 Bruins' home telecasts). Former Bruin Andy Brickley will be analyst for all of NESN's Bruins games. Former home game analyst Gord Kluzak will appear between-periods from the studio.
This is a link to a NESN press release announcing Edwards' hiring.
I was a bit surprised; I thought that perhaps Don Orsillo (until the Olympic break) and Tom Caron (after the NHL comes back from it's Olympic break so Orsillo heads to Spring Training with the Red Sox) would have called the Bruins' away games for the simple reason they already are on NESN's payroll.
Boston is the only NHL city that has two different play-by-play men for locally-produced game telecasts split between home and away games; I think there may be one or two other teams who split local TV play-by-play between two announcers but I think the split is broadcast-TV/regional cable-TV.
I wonder too, given that Arnold can't do the entire Bruins' schedule, if Edwards a year or two down the line might eventually (with Brickley) call the entire Bruins' local-TV schedule.
