A friend in the know saying that NRC is about ready to throw in the towel on Jack. With Jack dumped in NYC I think you'll see a lot of the struggling Jacks to start disappearing, radio people being trend followers and such

Oh please come on that is just not true, why would NRC throw in the towel on the very first JACK station to hit the US? That is just complete crazy to think that at all!
Just becasue Jack dissappeared from NYC doesn;'t mean it is a dying breed format. Now if say oh some of the jacks in lets say Texas to Utah down to Ca drops off then they would have to rethink that but that hasn;t been the case so far. So don't start to jump to any conclusions about NRC dumping Jack anytime soon. That is their pride and Joya nd they worked really really hard to get that station to where it is now.

I apologize for my sloppy writing there. It seems I started on one thought and immediately went to another. From what I was told by an insider, NRC has come to realize that Jack just hasnt worked in Denver. They've given it a good go and it has, in the big picture, failed. There are some highly successful JACK's out there but Denver's version isnt. If they do make the change, what's is next?

Hasn't worked in Denver??? Ok lets forget about Denver ok? I am sure they are also looking around at other areas like up here in northern COlorado and souther Wyoming where the signal can be heard loud and clear from Fort Collins to Laramie even to cheyenne.. People up here they do listen to Jack very heavely now in Denver i know that it might not be doing to well down there due to the fact of how strong the signal comes in all over denver. But if you haven;t been paying much attention to the promos after ever few songs where they have the listeners saying postive stuff about Jack? I know this for a fact becasue I did talk to the PD last yr and he told me that Jack is doing fine and they are having fun programming Jack and putting the music on. So I am, not sure where Insider got his misinformation but i strongly don;t think that the very first Jack to hit the USA would flip format at any point in time. I would repeat that again... If it wasn;'t for NRC there wouldn';t be any JACK stations in the US at all... NRC brought Jack to AMerica from Canada and it has flown off like crazy.. And speaking every Jack station in the US plays the same damn thing that 105.5 plays... The same format, the same songs... and I know this for a fact becasue I listenened to allot of different Jack Stations online(of course) and saw their playlist and notice there really isn;t any major difference with the Jack here to the Jack in Utah or Ca or any place else. So if this Jack in Denver fails so well every other jack, becasue quite honsestly this Jack is where all the other Jack's took off from.
So i highly doubt it that NRC would Kill jack...

WOW wriker! I am not sure which is more impressive; the ramblings or the inability to write a sentence.
JACK in Denver is a non-player. Why would any company keep a format around becuse they were the "first"? I say; with the over head they don't have (electric bill being it) they can afford to hang on to this boring pig of a signal.
It is all about revenue and NRC can't produce it with the signal they have in DENVER. Now; I agree that they do very well in NOCO but they are not selling Fort Collins, Greely, Loveland. Then again they don't have to produce (see above).
I am surprised that a PD would say the station is "doing fine and we are having fun programming it" what a news flash. I hope other PDs in the country pick up on that little bit of propaganda, it could change the industry. Also nice to hear they have the sales staff involoved in cutting those nifty little listener promos. They aren't doing anything else. A suggestion: cut back on the JACK yourself.
