Jack-fm KFJK will flip to KMJ-fm Thursday with a simulcast of the local news and have a different talk line up including Glen Beck, Mike Savage, and Chris Daniel will have a show from 3-5 PM.

Not a bad idea...minus Nicole though. She hurt that station.

If you've not heard the promo for FM KMJ's weekend music programming, catch it. Sounds like the Johnny Mann singers. DC Boss Radio is back?

Ahhhhhh. This is an interesting turn of events. A new conservative talk station on the FM dial. You know what this town really needs? A new conservative talk station on a low powered AM signal. They could use some call letters with nostalgia and some old jingles and really burn up the airwaves with a .4 share.

Wow Peak and Lotus blow up stations, Wilks and CC sit with thier average stations. Hearing 70's back on 101 and 98.9. Someone in Lotus must of found out this was going to happen and blew up 107.1 just in time.

It's not just FM talk. It's KMJ. More KMJ....more market share. Daniel had more calls today as he fumbled his way through two hours than in a week or more on the Edge...

unfortunately, kynojox is right. "the FM KMJ" is very clever marketing. Peak will probly end up with both of them in top 5 ratings. KMJ with older demos and 105.9 pulling younger. Ol Chris is now repeating Ray's lies about the old Air America not having ratings. Oh and 105.9 is the second most powerful FM in the state?!?! The ditto heads eat it up tho, and now it's the gospel truth because "they said it on KMJ".

Chris was getting 105.9 mixed up with sister station 93.7 about being the second most powerful station in the state. I don't no if 93.7 is second but it at least in the top 10 with the grandfathered factor with 68kw erp at their location in Meadow Lakes.

He specifically named "105.9 The Edge" where, he said, he worked. At the time it wasn't even part of the Infinity/Peak group - it was still independently owned. There are dozens of stations in California with signals bigger than 93.7. And 105.9 is nowhere in the same league. But it sounds good to say it and what the hell they know their audiance is as gullible as they come- don't let the facts confuse the issue- over there @ Palm & Shaw they create their own facts. Air America on 790 had ratings numbers double what it has had since it became the fourth or fifth sports station in the market. Funny how they're always getting things "mixed up" over there.

Actually 105.9 THE EDGE was a CBS station at that time, 105.9 KKDJ,KMJ 580 and KSKS were the originas and then they bought 101.1 and 97.9 later I don't remember the company. When KMJ and KSKS had their studios in the Tower District KKDJ was operating in a trailer behind the building on Olive ave when they were a CLASSIC ROCK station in the mid 90s.
Now I saw a list showing the strongest stations in CA comparing Height and power and 93.7 was on it.
As far as JACK, It does leave a hole as far as 80s New wave and Mainstream, but not CLASSIC ROCK, I think the Blaze was one of the reasons for the change, Chris Daniel said this move was planed 3 weeks age, I'm wondering if LOTUS some how knew this since KHIT went onthe air 3 weeks ago.

Yep, the Fresno market is now void of decent 80's music. WEhat needs to be done is someone needs to throw on a station of 80's 90's New Wave, Dance, Freestyle, EuroPop for all the white 25-54 women who are tired of soft rock-less talk, robo jock stations such as 98.9 and 101.1
Someone might put it on, but almost guarunteed they wont do it right, just like Y101 with the stupid tags after each song and every other station trying to dethrone B95 for the hip hop audience.
Classic Rock---COVERED
Country---COVERED
Top 40---MEH, Not Covered Right
Alternative---COVERED
Hip Hop---COVERED
Talk---COVERED
Easy Listening---COVERED
Active Rock---COVERED
Well Programmed 80's 90's to target the 25-54 women who want to hear good 80's 90's music and who want some energy on the radio like they were used to hearing back in the day but are tired of the same overplayed music that get 20 spins a week on so-called variety stations---NOT COVERED!!!

Is anyone listening???
Beuller? ......................Beuller?

My Suggestion?
WOW FM!!!
I CAN do it right for any one interested in taking the chance at good 25-54 numbers!!!

my biggest audience were FEMALES 25-54! Count me in when this WOW-FM starts up, I can change the face of Fresno Radio...I did it before and I KNOW I can do it again! SOLUTION: Give the people EXACTLY what they want and play their requests...stop telling your listeners "yeah, we'll get that on for you" when you don't plan on doing so...lol!!!!! So many PD's are SCARED to do just that and that's why Fresno Radio SUCKS BIG BALL PARKS today!!!!! :)

Right on the money Woody. Always liked listening to you when the family and I were grillin and chillin on the weekends. Mega is great at Urban AC, Groove, Funk but there is a hole with no one playing the great stuff of the 80's and 90's with a dance beat. Not enough Prince and tooooo much Tracy Chapman...uuugghhh!

woody and partyshack

90's! 90's! 90's!

but who would program such a station and who would have the balls (guts) to do it? peak?
woody did you EVER get to play request in your long history?

rr

...in my 14 years of radio, I have ALWAYS played requests...I'll admit that I put my listeners off a lil but it gets PLAYED and they would tell you that. as far as the 90's "rr" I AM DOWN! I mean, who could forget the great hits of the 90's...you had Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, you had Tupac and of course Biggie, but then there was that boyband phase "Backstreet Boys" "N Sync" and "98 Degrees" and who the hell could forget Christina Aguilera, Lauren Hill and good ol' Britney Spears? Man, Radio has changed these days...everything is AUTO TUNED! WHAT THE EFF MAN?!?!?!

I definintly agree ,maybe that would be a good thing for KHGE they have even seen a 2 share in what 3 years. Y101 would be the next choice.
