JACK-FM Commercial

Yeah, I've seen it. It was "Hey Ya", into "Whip It", into "Pour Some Sugar On Me".

JACK-FM - Playing What We Want . . .

I just saw a commercial for Jack-FM on CW-11. It was stupid. Some ugly woman dressed in ugly clothes dancing to some song. (I forgot which one). It had a 101.1 JACK-FM logo in the corner of the screen. If it didn't have that logo you wouldn't even known what was being advetised. Stupid Commerial for a stupid radio statio.

There are couple, I saw another one with a guy that looked suspiciously like "Napoleon Dynamite" dancing to the same music collage. The problem with the commercical is when the Howard Cogan voice over comes in and he gives the tag line "Playing what we want",, if you dont know anything about the format it does not make much sense. If Im the listeneer I think " but dont all radio stations play what they want"? because despite our belief that everyone knows that stations have tight playlists etc, its not true. Most people do not care that much about the radio that they're even aware that we're so tightly programmed, they dont care enough to research soemthing like that, they just know that stations play things over and over but probably never actually sat down and thought about why. Im not a jack basher like so many on this board I actually think it's ok as for the big commercial buy I dont think the problem with Jack is people not knowing it's there :D.

The commercial actually reminded me of the classic WNEW-FM ad (pre Opie and Anthony) with the fat guy doing the running man/cabbage patch to Aerosmith's "Walk this Way". From what I remember, the ad was actually used in different markets for different rock stations, don't know if they were all Infinity/CBS stations.

Many years ago, I remember Lite-FM's TV commercials really standing out. There were helicopter shots of the skyline all lit up, at night time. Along with Hall and Oates "You've Lost That Lovin Feelin", and Bee Gees "How Deep is Your Love".

My first reaction to that commercial was..."You REALLY want to play that?".

I've seen that commercial during "Eyewitness News". I don't really like that commercial at all, because of the format change from oldies last year. I remember the WCBS-FM commercial since the 90's when it was an oldies station that I was tuning in.
