JACK-FM discussed on CNN -- Must See TV?

Paula Zahn will be discussing JACK-FM (and I'm assuming the Variety Hits format as a whole) on Monday night on CNN at 8PM EDT. Scheduled guests include Cousin Bruce Morrow, Rick Dees and the voice of JACK-FM (who's identity will be outed by Karl Rowe and Bob Novak).

My phone didn't ring for this one...but it's just as well since I would go for removing Bruce's toupee on live TV or something.

Will Cousin Brucie talk about how WCBS-FM actually went up P25-54? (Doubt it). What does Rick Dees know about the format? (I suppose we'll find out, but my "self-promotion" detector is going off the charts). I wish they'd have Cadillac Jack on there... or at least someone who knows the format well enough to defend it and to point out its successes.

C'mon, that'd be great! CNN could use the excitement.
______________

You thinking what I'm thinking, Lou? A triple team against the new format, with Zahn as the third person? Basically, a "Let's hate Variety Hits" panel, with only one pro-format voice present?

So, what do you all think it'll end up being on Monday night?

The hating Jackasses:
The has beens against the have Jack's. I don't mean
this as disrespect for Cousin Brucie or Rick Dees. Paula will
start those face constortions and slobber about how Jack
is destroying radio (kind of like CNN trashed local TV)
and it'll be a whine-fest of how one man (CJ) and one
voice have run every good Oldies station & air personality
out of this business.

Reason for this possibly happening:

Why did she not ask Cadillac Jack on? Not
willing to give him credit? Scared he'll cuss her and
walk off the set? I'd be really surprised, from the
line up, if this goes Jack's way.

...or we could get:

The "we love Jack and want our own Top 40 Jack show"

Then again, Paula may just be cool enough to surprise
us admit and tell them you gotta accept change. She may admit she
hasn't listened to radio since iPod's and XM. She may
admit she listens to Jack online in her office. She
may start dancing to a small sampling of Jack songs.
That does not a CNN new story make, though.

Either way, worth checking out. It's still a homerun
either way. Jack you are a VIP. Then again, I guess I
drank the Kool-Aide. Or is that Jack? Daniels, I mean.

I'm not expecting an objective discussion of the format.

Ding ding ding. Something tells me that we won't hear any mentions of Nashville, where WMAK-FM (now WCJK) went up in P25-54... *and* WRQQ (former Hot AC, now Oldies) went up as well P25-54. I expect to hear Brucie whine about the demise of WCBS-FM in New York, and Rick Dees talk about how the format is costing radio jobs (ignoring markets like Phoenix), overlooking how his own syndicated morning show did the same thing to stations that carried it. Since he was replaced by a younger DJ (Ryan Seacrest), it's possible that it'll be an anti-young people type segment. Then they put on the JACK-FM voice talent, and what is Howard Cogan supposed to do against a media set-up, if that's what it is? I hope for the best, but I'm prepared for the worst from it.
______________

Lou,

You are right, as usual. I wonder if Howard Cogan will actually show
his face on CNN. He's been known to hide it with boxes and trash cans, etc.
I may be premature on this, but he'll end up being a radio legend for this.
Dees, Kasum, Clark and Cogan. He reaches millions of people every day 24/7.
Big time, in my book. Jack's fun is just starting.
