Jack Fm in spanish???

Lately I have noticed on 96.9 La Bonita that they are playing a big variety of music. Just to name some, Super Mecardo, Vicente Fernandez, Darelles De La Sierra, Xtreme, Beyonce, Calle 13, duelo, MArk Anthony, Banda El Recodo, Ramon Ayala, Alejandro Fernandez, Son By Four, ect ect.

Pretty much what I mean is that they are playing Regional Mexican music, Pop, Bachata, Reggeaton, Cumbia, R&B Oldies in Spanish all on one station. I wonder if they just added all the cds that were left from 107.9 KQQK when it was XO.

There is a spanish version of Jack actually. It's called "Jose-FM" and the tagline is "Toca lo que Quiere." (We play what we want) running on stations in California, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado. However it's not affiliated with Jack.

And José is simply the concept create five or six years earlier by Recuerdo in Los Angeles and then used by the original La Bonita, La Consentida (from the same company that now has Jack) and La Preciosa. All are variants on Spanish Adult Hits (the Arbitron term) and play music from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's as well as an occasional pre-1970 song. And all combine lighter tradititional regional Mexican with grupera and balladas and tropical in the mix.

José has not used "toca lo que quiere" for a couple of years, as it was apparently to close to the phrase that the licensor of the Jack concept has registered.
