JACK fm presenters refuse to play Christmas songs

Actually it might be an advantage for them to not play Christmas music. There are a lot of people who don't celebrate Christmas or who just don't want to be hit over the head with it all the time. I'm not in the radio business so don't really know that much about it other than that I used to be a DJ, but with as much complaints as you see this time of year on the internet about how pervasive the Christmas music is, if a station was bold enough to publicly come out and say they were refusing to play it, I'd say those people would flock to that station in droves for the month of December. They could even do promos advertising that they were the only station where listeners can tune in and just hear the music they like without getting the holidays thrown at them.

I'm surprised it's such a big story. Here in the Seattle area, most rock/top 40 stations play little if any Christmas music; in fact, last Christmas morning a lot of radio stations were airing their usual formats. None of them have advertised as "no Christmas" though.

Wow, I didn't know it was common to do that. Maybe I should flip around on Christmas if I get a chance to see what they're doing. I'd say our hard rock station probably would b the one to stick to their regular format. I'm usually listening to the country stations because I love the Christmas songs they play as that's what I grew up with.
