The example of Toronto may be illustrative...an initial upward spike followed by an eventual implosion. I'm surprised it actually did this well. This time next year, could just as likely be back in the 2s.

What may be MORE interesting is where it got its listenership from...apparently people are drifting over from The Lake and 97 Rock to give it a try, Will that last or will old listenership patterns re-assert themselves in Buffalo the way they have in other markets?`Jack stations will often get some initial sampling over the course of one book, then fall back to earth in subsequent books as the TSL shrinks unless they have a good lineup of personalities to keep things moving along (Arbitron/Edison study, Bridge Research study).

And since Jack has often been seen as a replacement or competitor for oldies as a format in a given market, it may be illustrative to note that such is not turning out to be the case in Buffalo. WHTT has hit the 7 share mark---that's at least a five book high and good for a solid third place overall.
