JAck FM Weather??

I had them on in the background..they stayed with it for awhile...they were behind the game for awhile though, seems like their EAS wasn't working for awhile, it didn't go off till the tornado warning for Davidson...should of gone off for the Dickson storm and didn't.. Moose didn't even mention the warning when he did the first cut in. Last time I recall Jack dropping music and going to News 2 was during the May 2010 floods

I got in the car at a little past 5 and no station had any weather coverage on at all. Things were still kinda bad in Wilson County.

3HL was basically doing weather until they went off the air at 6, although they stopped simulcasting WTVF's feed as the Tornado Warning expired in Davidson County.

And I've heard Moose break in on Jack-FM almost every time there is a tornado scare in the area. Definitely a couple of times since the flood.

I was amazed at how few stations had weather coverage on at all. Or had no follow up. I guess they all just figured that everybody was watching TV.

Jack-FM and Mix 92.9 routinely carry channel 2's audio feed during bad weather incidents like we had last Friday. No big deal there. They do it all the time. Yes, Jack-FM actually stops "playing what they want."! ;D

Am I the only one that is tired of Jack? The music is ok. I wish it was broader with more new stuff, but the whole "Jack" personality and "no requests" is worn out. So are the Billboards. Requests are so 1995 anyway it seems now, given as so few stations have live DJs that are actually allowed to deviate from the setup playlist.

I'm still loving Jack...lots of variety, no talk, and few commercials. The only complaint I have is they need to mix in some newer songs with there playlist!

I agree, I'd like to see more currents sprinkled in. I'd love them to see what a station from my hometown did, 94.5FM WLWK in Milwaukee 945lakefm.com. Basically the same format, but with may currents. But, what they are doing seems to be working for them, they are still doing OK in the ratings. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

CC is sort of bringing back request radio. Project 96.1 in Atlanta has a computer that allows listeners to "can" a song. They also have a 2 second "voice tag" for someone requesting a song. It is all done over the web. I like the concept but I am way too old to take more than 2 or 3 hours of "head banging" music. I wish CC would try it on an AC of Classic rock station.

BTW I do not work for CC and sometimes I am critical of them. But I have to give them credit, they might have something to bring back some younger listeners to Radio.

I love Radio 104.5 out of Philly and downloaded the iHeartRadio app just for that station. Not a huge CC fan, but they seem to do a good job with that station.
