Jack FM

As I'm sure you all know, that 102.7 K-Rock was JACKed. I would assume K-Rock didn't have good number, much like the other K-Rocks in the country. In fact, today, CBS Radio flipped K-Rock in New York City to "Free FM".

I'm not thamiliar with the market, nor have I even been to the San Antonio/Austin area, so I have a question. Do you think the Jack format will do well in this market. Would a station with thousands of songs and no jocks do well in this area?

Thanks

Jack will be higly successful. K-Rock had dismal numbers and was due for a change. The rock in this market is dominated by the long time rocker KISS-FM and there is no room for competitors.

Austin has a BOB-FM that was showing about the same ratings as K-Rock in the last trends. BOB is a weak signal and listenable only in about a third of the city.

Will Jack catch on? If this morning is any indication... I was getting out of the car at my daughters school and Kenny Loggins was on Jack. As I walked her in I could hear at least two of the cars dropping off kids with "I'm Alright" cranked up so that the entire entry could hear it.

Jack is here to stay.
