Jack-FM's 9/11 Selections

In case you missed it, throughout the day, at about :10 past each hour, 101.1 Jack-FM was running liners with a seriously-spoken Howard Cogan saying, "The friends and neighbors we lost four years ago will never be forgotten. This is Jack-FM". The liner would be followed by songs such as Ray Charles' "America the Beautiful", Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA", Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind", Ace Frehley's "New York Groove" and others.

You could criticize Jack for its snarky liners, but no matter whose side you're on, you have to tip your hat to Jack for recognizing this day.
______________

Had WCBS-101.1 still been an oldies station, it's personalities would have also done something similar---but maybe better.

Re: Jack-FM's 9/11 Selections...Maybe

Maybe. I listened to Don Bombard (Bob Shannon) tonight(Sun.) on Max Music Radio online and in his three hour show, he just had a passing mention for the victims of four years ago.

I liked the show. Lots of music, about sixty seconds of spot time per hour, Max Music Radio jingles which were the same as CBS-FM jingles and nothing played was more recent than 1963.

100% Agreed!! It was done with "Taste and Style." JACK won ALL the "style poins" with that move!

Nice of them to do that. The thought is appreciated. However, looking at the bigger picture, the station still basically sucks.

It would be crazy if a radio station made no mention of 9/11. Hats off to Jack for remembering the victims.
______________

OF COURSE! Use 9/11 as another opportunity to piss on Jack again! How could we have missed it.

Classy- real classy.

Jack-FM's 9/11

And anybody using the anniversary of September 11th to take more cheap shots at Jack sucks worse.
