Reportedly Infinity is also working to send someone to WCBS-FM as well. Hopefully with some human influence, 104.3 can be turned around (and 101.1 too).

Also, other than backlash from oldies listeners, why are these two stations failing while the other big Jack, KCBS-FM in Los Angeles, is seeing incredible success? Is it the music blend or something else; the layout and photos on the KCBS-FM website give me the sense that the street team is out there having fun with the listeners. The 104.3 site is down, but has anyone seen any 104.3 remotes? Despite the similiar playlists, perhaps Jack does need some sort of human interaction after all?

Same reason that Nashville is having success although it is down
a bit from the lofty launch numbers (read: HUGE TV BUDGET). Local
influence is there on air as well as on website, street team, etc.
All of which is totally missing from cheapo Infinity (excuse me..
CBS Radio) stations.

WJMK has TV, and Billboards. I know KRBV err KJKK in Dallas has a street team. JMK will probably get one once they get their act together. The processing needs work as well. Sounds like crap compared to the other Jack stations I've heard.<P ID="signature">______________

Putting Jack on in Chicago was not necessarily a bad idea, but a station in market #3 is not going to run itself.

There are two Infinity JACK stations that seem like they know what they're doing: the aformentioned KCBS-FM, and 100.5 KKJJ in Las Vegas. Both have the points that I'd mentioned above, both sound great, and both are making progress in the ratings. They've both worked from the start as well; KKJJ still has the same PD from its days as Las Vegas' 3rd place AC (KMZQ). Management changes aren't necessarily going to fix what's broken, but hopefully Sebastian can bring 104.3 back to life.

and they need a PD for what...?

The station appears to run itself; devoid of any life, sort of ok music, but just sounds like a small market satellite station... ooh wait, that's what they need the PD for!
