> New York's "Jack" drops 2.5 to 1.7 - to 22nd place in the

That is brutal but also unusual. Most of the Jack stations are having encouraging trends out of the gate. One of the reasons the NY Jack is getting off to a bad start is that it replaced a legendary oldies station that was well loved by many.
At the other extreme, check out the Nashville ratings. The Jack in Nashville has seen huge ratings gains and is now #2 in the market.
As for the Vegas Jack. Their July extrap was strong. If their August was as good as July, KKJJ should end up being the biggest gainer next trend, especially considering a weak Lite 100.5 May will be falling off.
I'm not sure if KKJJ will have longterm success or just a good book or two. But in the shortterm expect them to do much better than their counterpart in New York.
