Jack in San Fran or Cincinnati

Canadian RadioDude -- I accidentally deleted your post in trying to make the "crossed out" post disappear. Sorry about that.

Anyway, it addressed the registration of 973jackfm.com by Chris Shebel. But that website was registered on 4/22/2005; Bonneville put Variety Hits on in San Francisco on 5/11/2005, and according to multiple reports it beat Infinity to the punch (with Jack) by mere hours with the move. Not that the URL couldn't be used in Cincinnati, but I think it was more of a protection for if the JACK-FM brand was going to come to San Francisco.
______________

It could still come to Cincy. It's not like a pre-existing trimulcast of mediocre signals has stopped Infinity elsewhere (yeah, Chicago, I'm talking about you).

Shebel, who at the time was PD of Flying Bear Media's Energy 92.7 KNGY, registered 973jackfm.com, 997jackfm.com, and 1069jackfm.com. All three frequencies are owned or soon to be owned by Infinity in San Francisco. Merely domain squatting based on the rumors flying around the market at the time.

It's been said that Infinity was beaten to the punch in San Francisco by a day if not a few hours.
______________

Jack in San Fran

Agreed- this happens all the time. Good ol' radio gamesmanship.

Maybe Susquehanna's Mojo 94.1 (a rhythmic oldies station which now does awful, and gettin' beaten by WGRR, which is now in the top 5) could flip. Susquehanna owns Jacks in Indianapolis & Kansas City.

It's 94.9 and actually does OK in demos. 94.1 is Mix 94.1, which is trying to re-image as the "variety" station.
______________
Did the Corinthians ever write back?

If Mix sounded like a Real Jack station it could attract a bigger audience than it does. CC just started A Jack type format in Louisville which sounds pretty good called Louie.
