Jack jumps across the big pond (well somewhat)

I got married in July, over in London England. My in laws and our family friends across the pond, LOVE Jack FM. I mentioned England because London does not "to my knowledge" have any stations that play the following formats in a solid form Rock, Oldies, Country and Classic rock. London radio stations do play a good mix of classic dance and current British and American hits. When I said "solid format" I was implying that London does not have a station that plays nothing but country music and we take the country format for grated over here. When I was at my brother in laws place, I logged onto Kansas City's Jack FM and everyone that was there ate it right up :). Here is another interesting point, my wife is from Lithuania and Lithuanians seem to be pretty familliar with some popular American music artist. The moral of this story is if Londoners and Lithuanians LOVE Jack FM given the fact that unless you have a net connection Jack is no where to be found, there is alot to be said for that. I personaly think a Jack type format would soar "to say the least" if such a station launced in London or England for that matter. In closing I will also add that while I was over in London for four weeks I would wear my "san diego's 100.7 Jack FM" t-shirt and I lost count of how many people stopped me and asked questions like, What is Jack FM? how popular is the station in america? and I think the question I was most asked was "What exactly does the term playing what we want make the station so unique?. While I encourage anyone to reply to this post, I hope the post catches the eye of someone who is not from the US or canada NO RACISM INTENDED :) because I really do wonder if somwhere in the world there is a veriety hit station that us americans dont know about.

Thanks for stopping by and reading this post :)
