Jack Mindy announces his retirement

Jack, Didi you work at WIND, Chicago. Swore I heard an aircheck of you there. Like so many people, I remember your WBEN and WHAM shows, always enjoyable.

Never worked Chicago, although I recommend the hot dog stand inside Union Station. Many's the pleasant hour I spent there, waiting for the Lakeshore Limited, said he, wandering far off-topic.

I'm a bit late in offering my congratulations to Jack, so please forgive me.

The article in the D&C says it all: Radio isn't want it was when Jack started out (I can't believe) 50 years ago.

While technology has improved the sound quality of broadcasting, along with the ability to perform other tasks, the replacement of live and local announcers is truly a loss for radio as a profession.

Good luck with WGMC and best wishes.
